BAT Malaysia IS LOOKING FOR A Procurement Manager

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The Sourcing Manager-GTR delivers customer value by managing the relationship with the customers of procurement across GTR to ensure the efficient execution of procurement strategies at the end market level, delivering customer value by managing procurement relationships, aligning procurement activities with business goals, supporting sourcing for indirect and logistics, and driving continuous improvement in procurement practices.

Business

  • To understand customer/business unit requirements including their business goals, targets, initiatives, directions for their appointed end market.
  • Deliver the aligned financial objectives from procurement sourcing processes.
  • To manage the customer relationship and all aspects of procurement related customer service for Indirect goods and services for End Markets.
  • To manage the End -to-End Sourcing process for indirect and logistics category
  • To collate all relevant end market business unit procurement requirements, providing the necessary information to ensure robust planning, budget, and target setting. 
  • Ensure that the Sourcing plan is based on accurate demand captured from the business units.
  • Drive cost effective sourcing strategies to achieve best total acquisition cost while balancing the requirements of internal customers & Procurement.
  • To manage the local customer relationship for those categories being managed at end market level, shaping demand and compliance where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance for active suppliers within EM and categories.
  • Collaborate to deliver end market contracts in conjunction with Legal and Relationship Manager.
  • To ensure all contracts are agreed with the relevant business owners in alignment with BAT ESG and EHS requirements.
  • Ensure that the appropriate metrics, i.e. measurement tools, are in place and being used effectively to monitor and explain overall Procurement performance.

Leadership

  • Lead relationship with key budget holders and EM stakeholders critical to the Sourcing Processes
  • To challenge demand and requirements and manage customer expectations to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • To communicate appropriate procurement messages regarding sourcing strategies, process, and policies to customer and to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for providing recommendations for supplier selection for categories managed at an end market level.
  • Create and nurture an environment in which ethical and professional business values underlie all facet of procurement activity.
  • Identifying and managing the risk which exists whenever we contract for goods and services with suppliers and service providers.
  • Ensure full cross-functional commitment to strategies through effective communication, education, and evaluation of initiatives.
  • Embed the BAT Values in WOW and managing Change and Transformation

Management

  • Responsible for implementing Global, regional, End Markets category strategies and sourcing plans at end market level.
  • Ensures the business is compliant with procurement policy and actively manage any compliance issues.
  • Promotes consistent approach using the agreed global policies, standards and platforms in all day to day tasks. This may include developing internal SLA’s and monitoring against this performance.
  • Manages risk by mitigating BAT’s exposure to service delivery and commercial risk through the delivery of robust end-market contracts and the management of the business relationship.
  • Identifies the correct route to resolve any supplier contractual performance issues and manages their resolution.
  • Continuous supply improvements delivered to End Markets, measured in terms significant cost reduction, supplier rationalization, high levels of service, introduction of business process changes and complexity reduction.
  • Management of procurement strategies in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Analyze financial and market data, to build and maintain knowledge on all aspects of supply related external environment, on behalf of our internal customers.

Relationship

  • To build strong multi-level business relationships with end market customers. To know who their key customer stakeholders are, and to ensure an appropriate plan and approach is in place for each area/function.
  • To manage any conflicting requirements between customer and procurement at end market level escalating any issues as appropriate to the Area Procurement Business Manager.  
  • Maintain high level of internal customer satisfaction with the individual and the processes used.
  • Support business leaders with Supplier Relationship Management

Innovation

  • To determine the scope, scale and impact of any new products or services required by the customer. To communicate these requirements to the relevant Category Manager where appropriate or to amend end market strategies and contracts as required to meet the customer needs.
  • To communicate to the customer any new and innovative developments highlighted through Procurement stakeholders and relay any feedback on the use or development of these new products or services back to procurement for further action.
  • Drive continuous improvements to enhance security of supply, Quality and Cost for relevant Spend
  • Promote Supplier led Innovation.
  • Promote digital transformation and use of data analytics in our sourcing processes

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education qualification is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years & above with relevant working experience.
  • Experience in managing projects, especially to execute category and sourcing strategies at end market level.
  • Experienced in the sourcing process including negotiation and contracts placement.
  • Sound knowledge of the procurement processes, platforms, and policies.
  • Good Financial Acumen to understand key cost drivers and evaluate profit and loss.
  • Good Stakeholder Management.
  • Sound knowledge of corporate regulations and local legislation to ensure the creation of effective commercial contracts.
  • Excellent communication equivalent to Native English language.
